Being Sick: To Exercise or Not to Exercise

Posted

Being sick is never fun or a good time, it takes away your energy and leaves you feeling lethargic. With low energy and minimal motivation to move, we asked ourselves: is it really a good idea to exercise while you’re sick?

After a little research we found that the Mayo clinic stated, “Mild to moderate physical activity is usually OK if you have a garden-variety cold and no fever. Exercise may even help you feel better by opening your nasal passages and temporarily relieving nasal congestion.” We agree that if it isn’t something serious, getting a little fresh air and movement can’t hurt as long as you’ve considered your symptoms and perhaps your doctor as well.

While going around the office, Salina and Ilena agreed that every time they felt a little sick and did some exercising it made them feel a whole lot better, helping them sleep better at night through their sickness.  They even mentioned how they felt better about themselves after realizing that not even a little cold can get in the way of living out their healthy goals!
