Before and After

Dear Jodi,

Seems like I've told you how wonderful I feel doing your Chair Dancing but I haven't told you anything tangible. Today I did notice some definite benefits that I want to share with you because these things are proof of the significant benefits I've received with your program.

I want to preface this by giving you a thumbnail sketch of my battle with weight. Not too long, just enough to give you an idea. I've always battled with my weight. I managed to be slim in my teens but as I got older, the weight was a problem. However, I was successful with Weight Watchers and at one point managed to lose about 80 pounds. I started putting some weight back on during law school -I was working full time and going to law school full time at night. After law school, I managed to control my weight with maybe 40 pounds overweight. I love to walk and swim and that was my exercise on a daily basis. Then in 1999 I had an emergency hysterectomy. In 2000 I had a back fusion and gall bladder surgery, and in 2002 I had major hernia repair. During the back surgery I had a hypoxic incident and was in a coma for 2 days. In early 2003 I lost both my Dad (who was and still is my HERO) and my Grandmother who pretty much raised me while Mom and Dad worked to support us. So, in 4 years it was trauma after trauma after trauma. By late 2003 my weight was ballooning. I had no desire or energy to exercise and I kept getting hungrier and hungrier. It was a Catch-22. In early May of this year, I was 150 lbs. overweight and not going anywhere. My cholesterol and triglycerides were through the roof, my back was in terrible pain and the pain in my knee joints was almost intolerable. I also had generalized muscular pain. I made the decision to have gastric bypass to save my life and get my quality of life back. It's not worth it to me to live to a ripe old age if I don't have quality of life.

I found the WISH Center at Valley Medical Hospital here in Renton (eastside Seattle). I believe that by going there God has given me a second chance. At my first appointment I was told that I would have 8 weeks to prepare for surgery and they set goals for me. The goals are--48 oz. of water per day, six meals a day with protein at each meal, learning to sip liquids very slowly, take Vit B complex, Multivatim and calcium every day and, the most important thing, learn to exercise 6 days per week. This is where Alicia recommended your Chair Dancing to me. Bless her too!

I have been religiously doing your Chair Dancing thru the Decades for 3 weeks. MY KNEES NO LONGER HURT. MY MUSCLES NO LONGER HURT. MY BACK HURTS ONLY IF I'M ON MY FEET FOR LONGER THAN 10 MINUTES. MY PANTS HAVE GOTTEN BIGGER. MY BREATHING CAPACITY HAS IMPROVED TREMENDOUSLY.

Testimonials

I love your tapes. I have old VHS player and use the tapes everyday--I have all of them. I had both knee joints replaced and exercise and physical movement was very limited. I have been using your exercises and have made incredible improvement.

My question: are there plans in the works for any new tapes or DVD's?

I would love to have more.

Thanks for creating such a unique motivational tool.

"I started on Chair Dancing around February 6. I had gotten on the scale and was totally upset at what I saw. I made up my mind to start losing weight and get some exercise. Because I have had numerous right foot surgeries over the last two years the conventional exercises I can not do. These exercises really give you a workout without putting additional strain on my foot. I have changed my diet and since February 6th have lost 16 lbs. I am now very motivated because I see results that I never got before. I have just ordered two more DVD's so I can change up the routine and have some more fun. Thank you for these programs."

"Jodi's videos are great to follow first thing in the morning to stay flexible and get the blood flow going when I know I won't have time to go to the gym. One of the things I really like is that they don't require much space or any lying down on the floor. They are so positive and cheerful that they make a GREAT start to the day ."
