I have had both of my knees replaced and have a slightly enlarged heart. My cardiologist wants me to exercise and my orthopedist wants me to do low impact exercise. These exercises are great because there is no real impact involved and you work your arms as well. It helps increase my heart rate slightly, which I need. I have recommended them to my family and friends.

I fractured my knee cap, needed surgery to set it and then was in a brace for seven weeks. I used a walker and every step was very painful. Exercise is part of my life. Not only did I miss it, but I was worried that I would gain weight by being inactive. I contacted Jodi, and within a couple of days had six of her DVD"s. I did them, sitting on the seat of my walker. Since I had such a variety, I didn't get bored. I couldn't move my right leg, so all the movement was done with my left leg and two arms. Once the brace came off, I continued with Chair Dancing, and slowly the movement came back to my right leg. First, I tapped my toes, and eventually, I could lift my leg in a bent position. I was moving aerobically, and I felt I was being pro-active in my recovery.
The best part of my day was turning on the DVD and seeing Jodi. She was so cheerful and upbeat, and I looked forward to seeing her. My six year old grand daughter would join me, waving the paper plates and concentrating with everything she had. She would encourage me. I am also pleased that in being careful what I ate, and doing Chair Dancing every day helped me to lose 10 pounds over a four month period.
I am back to my regular exercise, but still do Chair Dancing about three times a week. It has become a part of my life. I enjoy them all, but I my favorites are, " Yoga", "Around the World" and "Through the Decades".
I wish more people knew how great this exercise program is. You can do it in the comfort of your home. If you have an injury or aren't able to more around easily, or simply can't get out of the house, this is invaluable.
