CAN I HAVE THAT EXTRA CUP OF CHEER?

Don’t let the thought of the upcoming holidays get you down when you think about having to deny yourself your favorite foods. It is a time of Thanksgiving and Good Tidings – It’s a time to reflect and cherish the time we have with our loved ones. We hear a lot of taking things in moderation. Finding that balance is hard, my sweet tooth is not as sweet as my daughter’s but I do like to graze during the holidays. I happen to also crave exercise which is understandably not the same craving that others have and I respect that!

To those that have a harder time indulging, I say, don’t deny yourself. Remember to focus on the things that matter: good company, good food, good tidings. Have a cup of Christmas Cheer, but if you have an extra cup, don’t beat yourself up for it. Enjoy your time with your family, take an extra walk around the block or spend an extra 15 minutes with your favorite workout and enjoy the holiday season.

Some tips to keep you balanced:

If you have more dessert than dinner, take an extra 15-30 minute walk or exercise before your big event

Plan your workout before attending that holiday event to make sure you are sticking to fitness first

Be prepared, use one of our 5-10 routines to keep you moving during the holidays

Your favorite work-outs can be downloaded onto your phone and I know you have your phone with you

Did you know that a bottled water is 16 oz. and that 16 oz. = 1 lb.? Use two bottled waters to boost your fitness routine

The most important thing is being kind to yourself, you deserve this time after this crazy year. Especially this time of year, it’s hard to stick to a schedule but you can find a few minutes to take care of you.
